Roundtable discussion with Suzanne Duke, Special Advisor to the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, on the Government's Next Generation Broadband paper, released earlier this month.
The event will be at the IIEA at 8 North Great Georges Street, Dublin 1, at 2.00 on Thursday, 17 July 2008.
This paper makes ten significant commitments including: Government will commit €435m to address the digital divide; Universal broadband coverage in Ireland by late 2009 / early 2010; consider follow up on global crossings international connectivity; require major infrastructure developments to install ducting; and allocation of spectrum to encourage trialling and development of mobile technologies.
