The International Financial Reform Agenda - View From the Square Mile

About the Event:

Mr Villeneuve discussed national, European and global financial reform agendas from his unique perspective as Chairman of the City of London’s International Regulatory Strategy Group. Acknowledging the need for reform, Mr Villeneuve emphasised the desirability of a globally coordinated approach that would avoid regulatory arbitrage, increase transparency, and encourage industry involvement.

Gary Palmer, CEO of the Irish Funds Industry Association, responded to Mr Villeneuve’s presentation with some remarks about the European Commission’s reform proposals in the areas of banking supervision and alternative investment fund regulation.
